California Dance Institute (CDI) PAID Internship Opportunities 2023-2024
September 2023 – February 2024
20hours/week. $16.90/her. $6,760 total.
California Dance Institute (CDI) is an in-school and after-school nonprofit arts education program that teaches life and learning skills through dance and music. CDI’s mission is to motivate children to develop a personal standard of excellence by instilling confidence, discipline and focus through the rigor and joy of dance. Live music is experienced in every CDI dance class!
CDI’s development intern will research grant and funding opportunities. They will help create and manage a year-long grants calendar that tracks timelines, due dates, and awards. They will assist in the writing, editing, and application process. Once the school year begins, they can visit the school site(s) where CDI programming takes place, participate in classes, and see firsthand the programs their work supports. The intern can receive teacher training in the CDI methodology, knowledge of which they can apply to their development projects.
Intern will also participate in the daily operational tasks that make our arts education programs run. They may work with permission slips, rosters, and surveys. They assist with data collection and turning data collected into graphs, charts, or useful statistics. They will help grow CDI’s social media accounts, and find opportunities for our after-school teams to perform at community events. They may participate in CDI programming, dancing with our teachers and students to viscerally experience the program firsthand. The intern will also help with other duties as assigned.
The internship is offered through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture. The intern must be a current college student or recent graduate. Community college students are encouraged to apply.
