KZN Amafa Institute Free Learning Opportunity
Do you take decisions on land use, buildings, town or regional planning? Do you submit applications to the KZN Amafa & Research Institute in terms of heritage legislations? Are you starting a business in the heritage sector? KZN Amafa Institute, through the University of Cape Town, has put together a training programme that can enhance your understanding and your ability to apply the laws.
THE COURE OFFERS THE FOLLOWING:
- History of the ideas and theories of architectural and urban conservation
- Introduction to certain national and international charters
- A grounding in the principles of conservation practice
- Introduction to the national and KZN legislation and to the current administrative practices Introduction to the research techniques and sources used in this multi-disciplinary practice
Course dates: 8 – 10 and 13-15 November 2023; 08h00 – 13h00 (6 half-days)
NOTES:
- If you are interested, you can apply through Amafa Institute
- You need to have access to online platforms as this course will be entirely conducted online
- Once accepted, attendance for all days is compulsory
- All participants will sign a learning commitment with Amafa Institute
- All participants will be expected to write an assessment (examination or assignment)
- All costs will be paid by Amafa Institute
