The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs (MODVA) invites young Namibians who wish to volunteer serving in the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) to apply for career opportunities in the Force.
Enlistment Requirements – Namibian Defence Force (NDF) Recruitment 2023
Other Ranks
a). Must be Namibian citizen only
b). Age between 18-25 years on or before 30 June 2023.
c). He/she to have obtained at least Grade 12 or equivalent certificate with 25 points in five (5) subjects including “E’ symbol in English or Grade 11 new curriculum with 25 points in five (5) subjects and a ‘E’ symbol in English or Grade 10 old curriculum with minimum 25 points in seven (7) subjects and a “E” symbol in English.
d). He/she must meet the required standards as follows:
(1) Ready to undergo a comprehensive medical tests including HIV and for women pregnancy test
(2) Must Pass Basic General Knowledge Test
(3) Pass English Language Test
(4) Pass Physical Fitness Tests
i) Run 2.4km in 13 mins or less for males and 14 mins 30 secs or less for females
ii): Sit-Ups. Male 43 ups or more and female 25 ups or more
iii) Push Ups Male 30 ups or more and female 28 ups or more
(5) Should have no criminal record or with pending cases
(6) Should meet the following Body Mass and Height Requirements
i) Male 152 cm min to 200 cm max: 47 kg to 96 kg
ii) Female 152 cm min to 183 cm max: 55 kg to 81kg
Officer Cadets
a). Must be Namibian citizen only.
b). Age between 18-25 years on or before 30 June 2023
c). He/she to have obtained at least Grade 12 or equivalent certificate with a minimum of 27 points in five (5) subjects including a ‘C’ symbol in English Tertiary qualification will serve as added advantage
d). He/she must meet the required standards as follows:
(1)Ready to undergo a comprehensive medical tests including HIV and for women Pregnancy test
(2) Must Pass Basic General Knowledge Test.
(3) Pass English Language Test
(4) Pass Physical Fitness Tests:
i). Run 2.4km in 13 mins or less for males and 14 mins 30 secs or less for females
ii). Sit-Ups Male 43 ups or more and female 25 ups or more
iii) Push Ups Male 30 ups or more and female 28 ups or more.
(5). Should have no criminal record, with pending cases
(6). Should meet the following Body Mass and Height Requirements
i). Male 152 cm min to 200 cm max: 47 kg to 96 kg
ii). Female 152 cm min to 183 cm max: 55 kg to 81 kg
(7). Pass Psychometric Test
e). All candidates applying for Other ranks and Officer Cadets should attach the following
(1) Certified copies of Namibian Identity Card and Fall Birth Certificate
(2) Two (02) recent colour passport photos
(3) Certified copies of all education qualifications.
(4) Copies of both sides of Covid-19 Vaccination Card
f). Indicate shoe size at the top right side corner on the First Page of the Public Service of Namibia Application for Employment Form No. 156043.
g). Applicants should indicate their constituencies on the First page of the form, stamped by their respective Constituency Councillor and should submit their application forms at the same office
h). Once the Constituency Councillors stamped the Application Form, the candidates must make copy of the first page and retain such copy as proof of submitted application
i). No Constituency Councillor should turn away or refuse to accept the application forms of any candidate
j). After the closing date, all the Marginalised Communities application forms should be forwarded to the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare, Attention Hon. Royal Ui/o/oo Deputy Min of Marginalised Communities, and that office to stamp and forward such applications to the MODVA
Take Note:
1. Candidates should clearly indicate Other Ranks or Officer Cadet when applying.
2. Candidate cannot apply for both Other Ranks and Officer Cadet
3. Submissions of the Application forms are strictly to be submitted as directed in this advertisement only. Application submitted through deviating from this procedure would be disqualified accordingly.
