What is the Old Mutual Foundation?
The Old Mutual Foundation is Old Mutual Namibia’s corporate social investment vehicle annually funded by 1% of Old Mutual’s after-tax profit allocation which aims to deliver a wide range of social initiatives throughout Namibia.
The social responsibility framework provides strategic guidance to social investment initiatives and programmes. The framework provides a common approach to social investment activities across the various Old Mutual Namibia operations and aligns with the responsible business framework.
What is the purpose?
- To contribute to greater access to financial services for those previously excluded from these services
- To contribute to improved financial awareness and financial well-being at all levels of society
- To contribute to the promotion of entrepreneurship and growth of small, medium and micro-sized enterprises (SMMEs)
- To support national and local developmental priorities in the communities in which we operate
Sustainable Impact
The Chair & Desk Initiative takes a sustainable approach by repairing broken chairs and desks, maximizing the use of existing resources. Additionally, we will provide new furniture to schools in need, ensuring durability by reducing the need for frequent replacements.

The Old Mutual Foundation is accepting proposals from government schools across the 14 regions that are facing challenges with chairs and desks. Apply now and tell us why your school needs help.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
a. The Chair & Desk initiative is exclusively applicable to Government schools across the 14 regions.
b. Interested schools must complete online application to be considered for selection. To apply visit: www.oldmutual.com.na/foundation
c. The qualifying or selected schools across the 14 regions will be announced on 15 September 2023.
d. The repairs and supply of new chairs and desks in all 14 regions are scheduled to commence on 1 November 2023 and must be completed by 30 November 2023.
The announcement of the top 4 schools will take place on 6 December 2023.
